Introduction

This page provides instructions for downloading and installing KnowledgeTree Open Source Appliance.

Installation

Perform the following steps:

Step 1. Prepare the Server

Prepare a dedicated, virtual or physical, server.

  • KnowledgeTree Appliance must be installed to a dedicated, clean, physical or virtual server.
  • KnowledgeTree Appliance includes its own operating system and therefore overwrites any pre-installed information at the install location.
  • The Appliance management interface and the document management system interface are accessed and configured from a separate client machine.

Step 2: Download

Select a Build Type

KnowledgeTree Appliance is available in a variety of builds. Click here to find out more about the different Software Appliance build types, including definitions and use-cases.

Check Install Instructions for Your Build Type

Install instructions for the ISO Image Files (CD/DVD) differs slightly to the other build types:

  • ISO image files, burned to CD/DVD?
The ISO image, on a CD/DVD, is installed onto a physical Server, requiring a few additional
installation steps, such as formatting your hard drive and configuring the Firewall. When
enabling the firewall, ensure that you allow traffic to HTTP and HTTPS ports. To do this, allow
access to the following service: 'Web Server (HTTP, HTTPS)'. When you're done, go to step 4.
  • Other build types - i.e Virtual Server? Go to step 4.

Download KnowledgeTree Appliance

and to the Appliance Management Console, on the Server's command line interface.
